Man Stabbed During Attempted Robbery On Davenport Bike Path
I feel I need to share a story with you.
I was scrolling Facebook this afternoon while eating lunch and I saw a post from a listener where she describes how her son was stabbed yesterday morning on the Duck Creek Bike Path in Davenport.
Her 22-year-old son, Austin, was on the path around 8:30 a.m. yesterday morning near Marquette Street when a man approached him and attempted to rob him. Austin fought back, and the man fled the scene.
He sustained multiple stab wounds during the altercation, and drove himself to the hospital. Five of those wounds needed to be stitched up requiring stitches. He's recovering now, but is shaken up by the incident.
The suspect is described as being a Caucasian man, wearing a beanie, a bandana over his face, a black sweatshirt, and jeans. If anyone saw anything or has any further information please call the Davenport Police Department 563-326-7979.
Please stay safe out there. Be mindful of your surroundings, and stay in groups whenever possible.
