Remember the excitement the day you passed your driver's test, and got your license?

A man named Zhang from the Guizhou Province in China passed his test, and started his drive home. He had multiple friends congratulating him via text, which of course the new driver with bad habits was reading.

He made a wrong turn onto a pedestrian bridge, and when he looked up, realized he was about to hit two pedestrians with his car. Rather than brake, his first instinct was to swerve, only the bridge he was on is about the width of the car he was driving. The car ended up in the water.

Luckily, the car floated long enough for Zhang to get out of the car. He suffered a dislocated shoulder from the incident.

The punishment for using your phone while driving in China is two points off your license, and a 200yuan fine ($30USD).
