Watching ‘JAWS’ While Actually Floating in Water? Bad Idea. Count Me In.
Heritage Harbor in Ottawa, Illinois is the Midwest's premier Marina Resort Community, located in the heart of Starved Rock Country.
And they've got a killer sense of humor!

FRIDAY, JULY 29, 2022 they're hosting a "Float-In Movie Night" where you can bring a floaty, innertube, or lifejacket to relax in the water while you watch JAWS!
"When a killer shark unleashes chaos on a beach community, it's up to a local sheriff, a marine biologist, and an old seafarer to hunt the beast down."
Ottawa is only about an hour and a half drive down I-80. You'll be enjoying a terrifying shark movie in a marina just off the Illinois River.
What Other Movies Would Be Great To Watch in the Water?
You of course could roll through the Jaws movies (2, 3, The Revenge). There was the Jaws derivative, Piranha.
There is the Sharknado franchise that would get a few laughs, or Creature From The Black Lagoon if you want to go old-school.
But if you really want to watch a movie in the water and get spooked, might I suggest Anaconda. Now, it's been a while since I've seen the movie and I don't remember it being particularly scary. However, you have to admit it's going to make you freak out every time you feel anything sketchy underwater.
There are no sharks in the Illinois River. You know this. Also, there are no Anacondas. But there are plenty of creepy crawlies, including water snakes. Just thinking about that makes my skin crawl.
Sounds like a great time to me!
