Jake McVey Returns To Circle Tap Sunday, Feb. 26!
While Michaels and I aren't the biggest fans of country music, we do love a good story. Jake McVey is living a great story.
He and his band of roving musicians have been recording and playing night after night to crowds large and small for the last decade plus--racking up about 300 shows a year. He's played the biggest stages, and some of the smallest--and you get the feeling talking to him that there is a lot more to come for him and from him.
Born in Washington, Ia, he spent his days working the family farm before music took over. I first saw him play at Wiebler's Harley Davidson on a Fall afternoon. His songwriting and stage show are great, and caught my attention when he added a few songs from my rock and roll youth.
We talked to him late last year after he released his latest single, 'Back Seat.' We even played it on the show. We think you'll like him too. Stop out and see what we mean Sunday, February 26th at the Circle Tap. The Circle is hosting him for the 2nd time, and to add to the excitement, they'll be giving away tickets to the upcoming Eric Church show during Jake's set.
Jake will be on our show again tomorrow Morning, February 23rd. This time playing live in our studio. As musicians go, he's becoming a favorite of ours. We wish him all the success that comes with relentless work, talent, and a little luck. We love a great story!
