Iowa Ranked As The Best State to Live In
We're number one! We're number one! We're number one! Finally, the rest of the nation can recognize what we've known all along: Iowa is the best place to live.
Last year we were ranked in sixth place, coming just behind Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Minnesota, North Dakota, and Washington. Thanks to Iowa's economic opportunities and high-quality health care, our Hawkeye state is now number one.
Each state got their ranking from eight different categories: health care, education, economy, opportunity, infrastructure, crime & corrections, fiscal stability, and quality of life.
Iowa ranked high in health care, education, opportunity, infrastructure, and quality of life. Our lowest rankings came from fiscal stability and corrections.
Illinois ranked at 35th and was ranked worst in fiscal stability and had a very low quality of life score.
