The Daytona 500 has always been a shiny beacon of hope in an otherwise dark, cold Midwest life.  After months of cold weather, snow, sleet and ice...there's a sliver of hope that life will eventually be filled with sun and warm air.

Then once the Indy 500 comes around...you can be positive that the bleakness of winter is over and we can once again enjoy our lives without having to bundle up to walk the dog.

The year can be broken down by the important races of the season.  And many people I know mark their calendars and build their schedule around racing.  They get the family and friends together, grill out and listen to the cars on the TV whizzing by the camera like white noise.

A pretty cool car is making a pit stop at the Northgate Hy-Vee for a fun experience the whole family will enjoy.  For race fans, this is mandatory!

What's Going On?

In partnership with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing (RLL), the Hy-Vee Indy Car will make an appearance this Sunday 9 AM – 3 PM at the Hy-Vee at 1823 E Kimberly Rd, Davenport.

If you want to pass along the love of racing to your kids...one way to get it into their blood is to get them up close and personal to an actual race car.  There's something very visceral that happens when you're able to see these machines up close and personal.  To reach out and touch it knowing it's capable of blowing the doors off of anything you may have driven to see it.

What The Quad Cities Did For Fun in the 90's

Many times over the years, I'll be talking with friends about years gone by and I'll say "take me back".

Every generation goes through this, I assume. Looking back at a more simple time where responsibilities haven't set in and life seems fun. Opportunities are endless.

Let's go back to the 1990's to Wacky Waters, 50 Cent Beer night and revisit Mallards Mania!
