Get ready for a blast from the past with the Great Revivalist Brewery's "Doppelbock Hot Poker Event" happening on February 17th from 5-8pm.

The brewers will be taking you back in time with the lost art of "Beer Caramelization" or "Bier Stacheln" as it's known in Germany. This traditional process, which dates back over 400 years, involves heating a metal stick (or "poker") to 1112°F and dipping it into a cold glass of beer to bring it to drinking temperature.

And what better beer to bring this process back to life with than their Doppelbock? This is no ordinary beer-tapping event, it's a full-on sensory experience! You'll smell the toasted marshmallow as the beer foams and steams. The Great Revivalist Brew Lab team is fired up (pun intended) to share this unique experience with you!

Brewer Charlie Cole says, "We're all about innovation and experimentation in the craft beer industry, but it's also really fun to bring back traditional brewing practices like Bier Stacheln. We can get natural toasted marshmallow flavors without adding any other ingredients."

While the beer tapping is for those 21 and up, the kids can still join in on the fun with s'mores cooked in their wood-fired pizza oven. And if that's not enough, the kitchen will also be open for regular service. So grab your friends, family and a beer (or two) and head over to the Great Revivalist Brew Lab located at 1225 S Oakwood Ave, Geneseo, IL 61254.

Let's bring the tradition of Bier Stacheln back to life
