
Freeze Warning Issued for the Quad Cities Friday Morning
The Quad Cities area is bracing for another bitterly cold morning. Following Thursday’s frosty start, temperatures are expected to drop even lower overnight, with much of the region dipping into the low 30s and even below freezing in some spots.

According to the National Weather Service, a Freeze Warning will be in effect from midnight through 9 a.m. Friday. This alert covers a large portion of the Quad Cities region, where overnight lows could threaten sensitive plants and outdoor plumbing.“Temperatures will fall below freezing for a larger area of the Quad Cities,” the NWS stated.
Protect Plants and Plan Ahead for the Morning Commute
Residents are encouraged to take precautions ahead of the cold. Bring plants indoors, cover outdoor vegetation, and check that pets have a warm place to stay.The cold could also make for an uncomfortable start to the day. “Make sure you are taking the proper precautions and consider leaving the house early to warm up your car before your morning commute,” forecasters advised.

While Friday morning is expected to bring the coldest temperatures of the week, meteorologists say the region will remain chilly through the weekend before a gradual warm-up returns next week. Residents should continue monitoring forecasts for updated information as the freeze warning takes effect.
