Indian River County Sheriff's Department arrested and charged a 29 year old Vero Beach man for possession of a controlled substance.

One of the Sheriff's deputies stopped a bicyclist for riding without lights around 11:10pm. The suspect allowed the deputy to search him.

In the brim of his hat, the deputy found a white powdery substance wrapped in cellophane cigarette packaging.

After a test concluded the powder as cocaine, the man said it "definitely isn't cocaine" and denied it being his.

This story puts Vero Beach in our spotlight for the second time this year. Last week, a woman threatened to rob a McDonalds after not receiving her dipping sauce for free in the drive thru.
