Florida Man Arrested After Throwing Cheeseburger At Wife
A domestic violence incident unfolded in southern Florida over the weekend in an otherwise quiet neighborhood.
Investigators with the Broward County Sheriff's Office were called to the home of Andres Perez. The 34-year-old and his spouse had been arguing about "financial and infidelity issues," according to the police report.
During the argument, officers noted that Andres Perez stormed into the kitchen of the home and threw some food at her.
The report notes Perez allegedly “stormed into the kitchen in his wife’s direction throwing a McDonald’s cheeseburger at her.”
But it didn't stop there, the victim told police that Perez then followed up on the sandwich toss with a punch.
"The defendant swung at her with his left hand with a closed fist connecting with the right side of her head behind her ear," the officers noted.
Perez and the victim have been in a relationship for eight years, and married for a total of three of those eight years. The two do share children in common.
Perez was taken to the Broward County Jail, where his mugshot was taken, on a charge of misdemeanor battery.
The report notes that the 34-year-old Andres Perez is a police officer with the Miami-Dade Police Department.
