Yanks and Shanks Disc Golf In Rock Island Is Permanently Closing This Weekend

The Quad Cities disc golf community is losing one of its local hangouts.

Yanks & Shanks Disc Golf has announced it will be closing its doors for good.

In a message shared with customers on Facebook, the owners reflected on the memories made over the years, thanking players for the friendships, laughs, long days, and support that helped make the business special.

This shop gave us memories, laughs, long days, late nights, and a community we’ll never forget. We met incredible people and we’re grateful for every single one of you. All scheduled tournaments will still run as planned, and funny money will still be honored — we’ll have discs onsite at each event. We’ll be packing up the shop this weekend. While the storefront is shutting down, there is some good news for local players. Any tournaments that have already been scheduled will still take place as planned. Players who have earned "funny money" or store credit through events will still be able to use it, with discs available at tournament locations. The shop also remains involved in upcoming events, including tournaments it has helped organize in the area.

Shop There One Last Time

Before closing for good, the owners say they will be packing up the shop this weekend and are inviting customers to stop in one last time. Everything in the store will be on sale as inventory is cleared out.
