New Bagel Shop Opening in Rock Island This Week

A brand-new bagel shop is opening in downtown Rock Island, and after a successful trial run, they're ready to officially open their doors.

Blue Collar Bagels Opens June 20

Blue Collar Bagels will officially open on Friday, June 20, at 1809 2nd Avenue in Rock Island, taking over the former Daiquiri Factory location.

The shop recently held a trial weekend to test things out, and judging by the buzz online, people are pretty excited to get their hands on some fresh bagels.

From Produce Business to Bagel Business

Owner Patrick Fineran spent years working in the produce industry before discovering a talent for baking bagels. What started as a hobby eventually turned into a business idea, and now that idea is becoming a reality in downtown Rock Island.

According to Fineran, about 75% of the menu will be available when the shop opens, with around a dozen different bagel varieties to choose from.

Whether you're a plain bagel person, an everything bagel fanatic, or someone who loads theirs up with cream cheese, there should be plenty of options to try.

So if your weekend plans include coffee and carbs, June 20 might be the perfect excuse to check out the newest addition to downtown Rock Island.
