Comedian Perfectly Rips Every Sterotypical Newscast On Rising Gas Prices
John Crist, a comedian who has long entertained the internet with his spoof videos of real-life situations, recently shared a new video to poke fun at the news stations reporting on rising gas prices.
"We'll start with a still shot of the gas station sign, obviously," he narrates over an actual news cast. "Then someone open up their gas tank and put the thing in."
"Next, we're going to do a shot of the price ticker as they fill up with gas," John narrates, as that's exactly what shows on the screen. "Then, we'll just interview someone at the gas station and ask leading questions to make the situation sound more extreme than it is."
The shot cuts to himself filling in for where the interview would have been, explaining that he can't afford groceries anymore.
"Usually on Fridays, I would go down to Chilis and get a cold beer or a 2 for $20, but now, I can't even afford that," he says.
Then the shot is of the "person they interviewed looking like this."
John finishes the "broadcast" explanation with "Then we'll conclude by telling you to tune back in at 10pm to watch the exact same story again."
You can find more of John's videos on his YouTube, where he pokes a little fun at everyone and has another spoof video of a "Weatherman" who is sick and tired of being sent outside in the snow to show that it's snowing.
