Since then, the school district has been taking surveys can collecting suggestions for a new mascot from the Camanche community, including students. At the end of April, the school board widdled the mascot possibilities down to 7.

Towards the end of May, the school board announced the final three mascot candidates. Either the Storm, Wolves, and Chargers would become the new mascot for Camanche schools, according to the Clinton Herald.

On Monday, the Clinton Herald reports that after a 5-2 vote, the Camanche School Board voted that the new mascot for Camanche will be 'Storm'.

School board members Shane Bark and Albert McManus voted against the Storm mascot while Travis Baker, Todd Gravert, Stacy Kinkaid, Brad Weber, and Peg Wolf voted in favor of the change, according to the Clinton Herald.

The new mascot change will take effect starting this fall for the 2021-2022 school year.
