Six Flags Mexico Had Riders Stuck 250 Feet In The Air

As if the height and speed of the SkyScreamer weren't enough to get these people's adrenaline pumping, the ride decided to take it up a notch by stalling during a fierce storm. The riders, already sky-high, found themselves gripping the chains and screaming as rain lashed down on them.

Check out the video … the SkyScreamer ride came to a sudden stop, leaving riders suspended in mid-air, dangling high above the ground for nearly 10 minutes.

As if that wasn’t terrifying enough, the breakdown happened while torrential rain was pouring down at the Mexico City theme park.

Thankfully, no one was hurt. Six Flags Mexico later explained that the bad weather caused delays on the SkyScreamer and other rides across the park. They assured visitors that their staff acted quickly to manage the situation, even though the storm intensified during the evacuation process. In the end, everything was fixed and the SkyScreamer resumed normal operations shortly after.

A Past Six Flags Accident

But this isn't the first time Six Flags has made headlines for a ride malfunction this summer. Just a few weeks ago, a young boy had to be rescued from a man-made river at Six Flags Over Texas after a glitch on the Roaring Rapids ride sent him overboard. While he emerged unscathed, the incident became a viral sensation, further cementing Six Flags' reputation for delivering thrills — and the occasional unexpected spill.
