We have so many water bottles in our kitchen right now.  They have over run our cupboards over the past year because for a short time the kids couldn't drink from the water fountains at school due to COVID.  There was literally police tape blocking off the fountain so we went to the Dollar General and loaded up.

We got sorts of water bottles.  We've got ones with the flip top that open up like an old thermos.  We've got flippy straw bottles that have a handle that push the straw downward to close.  We've got stainless steel tumblers that my wife decorated with "Peace Tea" logos, and Marvel characters.  I have one that is a Miller Lite logo and another that's a Jack Daniels logo which doesn't help when I'm trying to sneak a fun beverage.

Turns out we just gave all of us a toxic sludge style beverage.

There's a report out that saying if you leave water in those "soft" plastic water bottles over night you're getting a dose of chemicals in the morning.

According to Study Finds:

Researchers at the University of Copenhagen analyzed water samples after the water had been in there for 24 hours.  And it was LOADED with chemicals.  They found hundreds of substances, including "photo-initiators," which can mess with your hormones and potentially cause cancer.

So, then they did it after the bottle went through a dishwasher and there were even MORE chemicals due to the plastic being worn down.

The lead author of the study says he'll never use plastic water bottles now, and suggests a quality stainless steel bottle instead.

What The Quad Cities Did For Fun in the 90's

Many times over the years, I'll be talking with friends about years gone by and I'll say "take me back".

Every generation goes through this, I assume. Looking back at a more simple time where responsibilities haven't set in and life seems fun. Opportunities are endless.

Let's go back to the 1990's to Wacky Waters, 50 Cent Beer night and revisit Mallards Mania!

Museums Within Driving Distance of the Quad Cities

"There isn't a museum I won't go to. The stupider, the better."
Michaels' statement this morning sent us into a good hour of discussion about museums within driving distance of the Quad Cities. Our listening family has clued us in on little hole-in-the-wall museums we never even knew existed, and they're just a hop, skip and a jump away from us.
Here's our highlights.
