World Series Drag Racers In The Studio This Morning

The summer races are here at Cordova Dragway. They will be burning up the asphalt at the hottest races of the summer taking place August 24th through 27th.

The World Series of Drag Racing is the oldest drag racing event in America and has been a fixture for racers and fans in the Midwest for nearly 70 years.

What is a Drag Race?

A drag race is an acceleration contest from a standing start between two vehicles over a measured distance. A drag racing event is a series of such two-vehicle, tournament-style eliminations. The losing racer in each contest is eliminated, and the winning racers continue until one remains.

Two-time world championship jet car driver Elaine Larsen will celebrate her 20th year at the wheel of a jet-powered race car in 2022 with a “Two Decades of Thrills: Full Throttle Tour” that will propel her into the next phase of her professional career.

Josh Krueder is a lifelong resident of Savanna IL. He has been driving jets for 16 years. Interestingly, he has never raced anything else, his first lap was in a jet car. Josh is the defending 2 time ('21, '22) World Series Jet Funny Car world champion.
