Wisconsin Humane Society Rescues Five Entangled Squirrels
Five little squirrels are lucky that a passerby found them, otherwise they could have ended up tailless or dead. The entangled group of rodents were taken to the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center at the Wisconsin Humane Society.
It was discovered that their tails were tangled up with long grasses and plastic strips that were used in their nest. The patients were noted to be "unruly" and "nippy" towards the doctors, until they were sedated.
Once the anesthesia kicked in, the doctors began unraveling the five-tailed knot. It took about twenty minutes to completely free the squirrels. The furry siblings are being kept in the center to watch for tail necrosis.
