Why Do Bourbon & Cigars Go So Well Together? There’s a Meetup for That
As I was scrolling Facebook, I came across and event that struck my eye. Some may know, I'm a beer lover. Others might know that I enjoy some good bourbon and a cigar from time to time. (the latter, mostly when my daughters not around because she'll give me crap about smoking)
Upon further investigation, I saw there was a Quad City Bourbon Enthusiast group on Facebook that I joined immediately. I saw they were putting on a Bourbon & Cigars Meetup and I had to learn more.
I asked QCBE member and meetup organizer, Tim Delany about some background on the group.
A few months back, there was a post mentioning having a "meet up" with bourbon and cigars when the weather permitted...likely at someone's home that would change month to month.
I am a member of Habano Cigar Lounge on 4th St in Davenport, I thought why not do it "before the weather permitted" seeing they have plenty of room, the cigars, and you're able to BYOB.
I coordinated with the owner, and he was happy to host it. I put together a flyer, posted it to the group, and have garnered quite bit of support
What should attendees expect when joining you for the Bourbon & Cigar Meetup
Most people in attendance will be bringing a bottle to share, so many people will get to try stuff they have not yet been able to.
Do you have any advice for those who are new to bourbon or wish to get out of their comfort zone?
Try everything once, and enjoy the cigar or bourbon the way you want....figure out the nuances of each through exploration
The Quad City Bourbon & Cigars Meet Up happens at the Habano Cigar Lounge on East 4th Street in Davenport this Saturday, April 16, 2022 at 4pm
