We've done the brewed. We've done the reviewed. And now it's time for the debut.

Last year we teamed up with Bent River Brewing Company to create a homebrew competition where local homebrewers would get together and compete for a chance to have their beer created on a mass scale and then distributed and sold by local liquor stores. This huge prize is something that has never been done before.

Twenty-six regional homebrewers came out, each armed with anywhere from two to six beers available for the public to come sample and vote on. Drinkers showed up to vote for their favorites.

When the smoke cleared we had two teams of brewers who would go head-to-head in a final competition to see who would earn the right to have their beer bottled, distributed and sold by Bent River Brewing Company.

Fast forward a couple months, and in the final competition the team of Cory Randolph & Colin Warner, from the Quad Cities, with their award-winning stout that's an Americanized spin on a German Dunkelweizen as chocolate easy drinking wheat beer named “Slam Dunkelweizen."

Well, after brewing their masterpiece it's time to debut this beer to the public. Coming up on Saturday June 22nd from 2-4pm Bent River Brewing Company in Rock Island will be hosting the debut event of Slam Dunkelweizen from the team of Cory Randolph & Colin Warner.
