Quad Cities International Airport Ranks On TSA’s Top 10 Weirdest Items Of 2025
The Transportation Security Administration has released their annual list of the weirdest things found on passengers, and this year's includes a perfect replica of a bomb and a woman smuggling turtles in her bra.
On the top of the TSA's list was when agents discovered what appeared to be a pipe bomb at Idaho's Boise Airport back in May.
Replica Bomb
"A TSA explosives specialist responded, assessed the image, and conducted a bag search, discovering PVC pipes and wooden blocks wrapped in paper, marked 'C4' with protruding wires," the TSA said. "The explosives expert determined the items were replicas and not a threat. The passenger said the items were training aids and abandoned them."
The TSA said that even though the guy's intentions were completely innocent, items that replicate explosives are just as not-allowed as real explosives.
"Realistic replicas of explosives are not allowed in checked or carry-on bags," TSA's Federal Security Director for Idaho James Spies said. "Our expertly trained officers take no risks when they screen a bag and see an image that could be an explosive. We're grateful that in this case, the items were not intended to harm anyone."
Turtles In The Bra
The other big highlight was one we originally reported on. The body scanner revealed that a woman was stuffing her bra - with two live turtles wrapped in gause.
She told officers she was just worried about them getting too cold down in the cargo hold, but wanted to get them safely to her destination.
