Tons of Metal Balls Roll Downhill, Damage Several Cars
Drivers in Seattle played a dangerous game of dodgeball when thousands of two-pound metal balls were spilled onto an inclined street.
The truck hauling the grinding balls was traveling uphill when it lost its load. At least four cars were hit by the balls and drivers were warned to avoid the area during the cleanup process.
The truck driver says he's glad that the incident happened in the city. "I'm just glad I didn't get 200 miles out," Robert Herman told KOMO. If the 44,000 pounds of metal balls were let loose on the highway, people could have been killed.
