The Potential Replacements For Alex Trebek on ‘Jeopardy’

Obviously, the word replace is used lightly here, because nobody can replace Alex Trebek, but everyone wants to know who will be our new Jeopardy host.

Since announcing his diagnosis in 2019, many began speculating who would replace the spot of host, a position Trebek carried since 1984. A 2019 poll showed around 50% of fans would no longer watch the show if Trebek wasn't the host.

Even when Alex Trebek was battling cancer, he was hesitant to make any nominations, except for one made jokingly: Betty White.

Alex knew the decision wasn't his, saying  “It’s not a decision that would be up to me, and I would not make myself available to presenting an opinion. I would leave it up to the people in charge."

Producers have said Trebek never even showed an inclination to nominate a successor to them behind closed doors. There are, however some who have thrown their hat in the ring.
