Brucemore Mansion in Cedar Rapids is ready for the holidays! Thanks to a Facebook post, we found out last week that A Brucemore Christmas holiday tours have officially kicked off for the season.

Brucemore Mansion, located at 2160 Linden Dr SE, was built back in 1886 by Caroline Sinclair. It was originally known as “Fairhome," but was changed to “Brucemore" when it was purchased by the Douglas Family in 1907. The historic home has hosted a number of different residents, guests, and animals over the years, but was eventually gifted to the National Trust for Historic Preservation by Margaret Douglas Hall when she passed away in 1981. The home and grounds are now open for tours and various events.

A Brucemore Christmas is a self-guided tour of Brucemore Mansion that runs from November 25th through December 31st. The website says that guests will be able to enjoy "three floors of history and holiday spirit" and "explore our award-winning holiday experience, complete with over a dozen dazzling Christmas trees, sparkling seasonal décor, and a glimpse into the holiday seasons of yore at Brucemore." Guests will also have access to the grounds, which include gardens, an orchard, and a pet cemetery.

Tickets for A Brucemore Christmas are $10 for adults and $5 for ages 1 to 18. It's strongly recommended that your purchase your tickets in advance because there are a limited number for each time window. You can get more information HERE.

By the way, you still have time to vote for Brucemore in USA Today's Favorite Historic Holiday Home Tour survey! You can get more information on that HERE.
