Get Ready for the Most Comfortable Event Ever! The Snuggie Bar Crawl!

I'm not exactly a trend follower.  I've been rockin the same "style" since high school when jeans and a concert t-shirt with a flannel were all the rage.  If I could still fit into my old Alice in Chains shirt from 1994 you can bet I'd still be wearing it to parent/teacher conferences today.

But there is a trend I've noticed recently.  It's a trend towards "comfort".  I'm not talking about pajama pants in Walmart.  I mean "Hey Dudes".  Those loafer style shoes that are all the rage.

They don't have the arch support I need to make them my daily shoes and they don't have the insulation for me to wear them out in the winter time.  But you can bet once the snow melts...and then the ground drys up (mud puddles in Hey Dudes are not fun) I'll be sporting my new kicks I got for Christmas.

 

There's a bar crawl happening in downtown Muscatine that is maybe the most comfy bar crawl I've ever seen promoted.  The Snuggie Bar Crawl!
You may call them Slankets, Snugglers...what ever you call them, they are basically blankets with sleeves.  Backward robes basically. And up until now it was socially unacceptable to wear them in public.  In fact, in private, you'd probably get made fun of.
The Snuggie Bar Crawl is happening in Muscatine this weeknd.  Saturday, February 26, 2022....Let's Get Ready To Snuggle!!
They'll start at The Brew, then head to Boonies, The Pearl, Hubbles, and back to the Brew for prizes!
2pm-3:15 Registration at The Brew
3:15-4:15 Boonie's
4:15-5:15-the Pearl
5:15-6:15-Hubbles
6:30 Prizes awarded at The Brew

What The Quad Cities Did For Fun in the 90's

Many times over the years, I'll be talking with friends about years gone by and I'll say "take me back".

Every generation goes through this, I assume. Looking back at a more simple time where responsibilities haven't set in and life seems fun. Opportunities are endless.

Let's go back to the 1990's to Wacky Waters, 50 Cent Beer night and revisit Mallards Mania!

Nostalgia Alert!.

We've compiled a quick list (by no means comprehensive) of venues in the Quad Cities that are no longer music venues but to us will ALWAYS hold a special place were we saw some great shows and made some incredible memories.

To many of us the live music scene wasn't just a concert here & there. It was an every weekend affair. And it didn't matter if it was a touring band or your buddy's band. We were going to be there with a beer in hand and scream along with guitars that were way too loud in a room that was improperly treated acoustically and make some bad decisions.
