Smuggled Cobras Found Hidden in Potato Chip Cans

A Los Angles man was arrested after officials found he was trying to smuggle three king cobras into the United States by hiding them in potato chip cans.

34-year-old Rodrigo Franco was arrest yesterday and faces twenty years of jail time for smuggling charges. A search of his home revealed several tanks with a live baby Morelet's crocodile, alligator snapping turtles, and five diamondback terrapins.

Franco had previously tried shipping twenty cobras, but all died in transit. On the same day officials intercepted a packages containing six protected turtles.
