Sky Over Quad Cities Lit Up By Huge Meteor

If you were out and about around 1:25 this morning you would have had a chance to see a huge meteor streaking across the sky. Residents in five different states have reported sightings.

The dashcam of a squad car in Lisle, Illinois caught the few second-long flash on video.

A police officer in East Moline told WQAD that he had “Never seen anything like it in my life.” The meteor could be seen in Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, Indiana, and Michigan.

This meteor was likely a little larger than a basketball as it made its way into Earth's atmosphere.
