I know who the worst drivers in the country are: Everyone else on the roads when I'm in the car.

A new study ranked all 50 states from the best drivers to the worst using five criteria: Accidents, speeding tickets, DUIs, citations, and deaths.

Iowa ended up ranking right in the middle at #27.

The 10 states with the best drivers are:

  1. Rhode Island
  2. Florida
  3. Mississippi
  4. Michigan
  5. Arkansas
  6. Nevada
  7. South Dakota
  8. Illinois
  9. West Virginia
  10. Oklahoma

And the 10 states with the worst are:

  1. California
  2. Minnesota
  3. Utah
  4. South Carolina
  5. Washington
  6. Nebraska
  7. Maine
  8. Virginia
  9. Idaho
  10. North Dakota
