We've all made some sort of mistake when sitting or running a Zoom meeting. There was no time to learn the system. There was no crash course, no instruction pamphlet. No, we were just thrown into this like a log in a fire. Mistakes were definitely made by a University of Miami professor, and he lost his job because of it.

The chain of events leading to his firing began March 26th. During a class, he shared his screen with the class. One student noticed a bookmark that said "Busty college girl fu..." and made it known to the rest of the class. Professor John Peng Zhang, didn't hear him alert the other students. Many students took pictures and videos of the bookmark.

The TikTok originally shared received more than 800,000 views within a few hours. Zhang apologized to his class the next day, saying he was "investigating the matter" and encouraged his students not to share the image anymore.

Two days later, the class logged on, and waited for 20 minutes in a classroom with no teacher. That was, until they got an email saying class was cancelled from the department head, the only communication about Prof. Zhang they would get from administration.

The instructor of the course changed, a new syllabus was issued. Zhang no longer works for the university.

Ethan Hartz said it was funny at first, but now feels guilt for sharing the video, even with his closest friends.
