Pennsylvania Man Robbed Bank With His 89-Year-Old Mom In Car

Police thought they happened across a situation reminiscent of the Fratellis in Pennsylvania after a Thursday bank robbery.

According to police, the Santander bank branch near the Quarry Center in Havertown was robbed Thursday morning.

Police said a 56-year-old Doylestown man walked into the bank and told the teller it was a hold-up.

The report says that the man didn't have a weapon or a note.

As the teller handed over a few hundred dollars in cash, they hit the silent alarm button and the security company was able to see the incident in real time through the cameras in the bank.

Luckily, an officer was just two blocks away and was able to stop the vehicle the assailant had used.

Police said there was cash strewn throughout the vehicle, as well as the man's 89-year-old mother sitting in the passenger seat.

The suspect told police that he had driven into town to steal tools from Lowes.

After he is done being treated for drug abuse at the hospital, the man will be charged for the robbery, but the 89-year-old mother isn't expected to see any charges.

Police said more details on the incident will be released later Thursday.
