Oklahoma Teacher Panhandles for School Supplies
Teresa Danks has gained some worldwide attention after a photo of the panhandling elementary school teacher started getting shared on social media.
She only makes $35,000 a year teaching in Tulsa, Oklahoma and says she spends nearly $3,000 of her own money on classroom supplies. So Teresa took to the streets with a sign that says, "Teacher needs school supplies! Anything helps! Thank you!"
After her photo got shared over a thousand times, Teresa started a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for her fellow teachers. The donations raised go towards the purchase of:
