Oklahoma Man Recovering After Deer Attack
Pastor Travis Hurst in Shawnee, Oklahoma is recovering after a wild deer attacked him outside of his church last week. Travis was putting together a bonfire when the buck approached him.
The deer came right out of the woods and walked up to the group of people. Just as the group was thinking they might feed the animal, it charged.
The pastor was forced to grab it by the antlers to protect himself. After a few minutes of attacking Travis, the buck finally turned and ran back into the woods.
An official with the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife believes the deer was raised by people and now isn't afraid of humans. He also noted that deer are in rut this time of year and are ready to fight.
