Last week, Nothing Bundt Cakes in Davenport wanted to help out one of their own who is once again fighting for their life. Charly Erpelding, an employee of theirs, is fighting cancer for a second time. According to a flyer they put out, Charly was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma at the age of 8-years-old.

Ewing's Sarcoma is a very rare type of cancerous tumor that grows in the bones or the soft tissue around the bones, such as cartilage or the nerves. It usually affects people from the ages of 10 to 20 and has a high rate of being cured, according to WebMD.

Nothing Bundt Cakes was asking all of us to come in and make a purchase between July 26th and July 31st. 20% of any purchase made at Nothing Bundt Cakes in Davenport last week went to benefit Charly and her fight against cancer.

We were there last week broadcasting from Nothing Bundt Cakes. We saw so many people stop in and buy cakes to support Charly and her fight against cancer. People were there to buy cakes and help a friend, a neighbor, a student, a stranger they didn't even know, fight this terrible disease.

When we were there, Charly and her dad showed up and stopped to talk with me. She told me she was doing good and things were looking good! She's thankful for the advancements in science and technology that have been made with her treatments.

Let me also again remind you, this is her second time fighting cancer, and she's ONLY 17! A true definition of a fighter.

I spoke with Heather who is the owner of the Nothing Bundt Cakes in Davenport. She told us she is so proud of Charly for her fight. Charly was also one of her first employees and has been a long-time family friend with the Erpedling's.

We asked Heather to let us know the final total from the Nothing Bundt Charly event. After totaling all of the sales from last week and taking 20% of that for Charly, Nothing Bundt Cakes and their customers raised $6,175.20! WOW!

Congrats to Nothing Bundt Cakes and their customers on raising all of that money to help Charly in her fight against cancer.

Charly, we have your back and you are in our thoughts during your fight! Keep kicking caner's ass!
