Mugshot Shows Aftermath of Carjacking Attempt on Three Football Players
20-year-old Angelo Drew Martinez in Albuquerque, New Mexico learned the hard way why it's a bad idea to try carjacking three football players. At least he has a nice mugshot to remind him in the future.
The suspected carjacker met up with the players near the Loma Linda Community Center and asked them for a ride. One of the players noted that Martinez was “acting sketchy", but they gave him a ride anyway.
As the car stopped in front of house, Martinez pulled a gun on them and tried to get them out of the car. They complied with him but when the carjacker fumbled with the gun, a player punched him in the face.
The other two joined in and restrained the man until police arrived. Turns out the gun wasn't real, but Martinez did have a knife and a note that said, “Give me the keys to your wip (car) and a nobody get heart. I know where you live so don’t make me kill.”
Martinez's mugshot shows his eyes swollen shut and his face disfigured by cuts and bruises. He's been charged with four counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and attempt to commit a felony.
