I've got a list here of the 10 most boring states in America, and it'll resonate differently with you depending on where you are in life. Single and in your 20s? These places sound rough. Married and older? They sound amazing.

Real estate website AreaVibes.com put together the list by using four criteria to figure out how boring a state is: the percentage of the population over 65, the percentage with kids, the percentage that's married, and the population density.

Based on those factors, the 10 most boring states are:
1. Idaho

4. Iowa
5. Arkansas
6. Montana
7. Nebraska
8. South Dakota
9. Oklahoma
10. Maine

They also found the five most exciting states, they're all on the East Coast:
1. New York
2. Rhode Island
3. Massachusetts
