12-year-old Liam Willcox is showing us all that patriotism is alive and well in the younger generation. The Moline boy has been replacing old flags with new around town.

Liam started the Flag Restoration Project because in his words, "Having a destroyed flag is not acceptable. And for the labor that it takes to get up and do one, it's definitely worth it."

Recently the Moline VFW donated 18 brand new flags towards Liam's cause and the seventh grader carries those with him as he replaces the faded Old Glories he finds. He hopes to reach the point where he has enough stock to just stop every time he finds an old flag and replace it.

You can reach out to Liam on the Flag Restoration Project Facebook page if you know of a flag that needs to be replaced. Of course, you can also donate new flags to his cause as well.

Donations can be dropped off at the Moline Veterans of Foreign Wars 1721 7th St, Moline, IL.
