Maryland Zoo Creates LEGO Wheelchair For Injured Turtle
An injured box turtle is healing at the Maryland Zoo after they created a specialized wheelchair out of LEGO pieces for it.
A employee with the zoo found the reptile at a nearby park and rescued it. The turtle was brought into the zoo's hospital to fix its broken shell. They used metal bone plates and sewing clasps to keep it held together.
In order for the shell to fully recover, it needs to stay off the ground. That's where the LEGO wheelchair comes in, the turtle can now scoot around freely.
The turtle will need to stay in the wheelchair until spring.
