A 33-year-old man has been sentenced to four months in prison for stalking his ex-girlfriend in Heerenveen after an incident where he had himself delivered to her home in a box.

The delivery took place on May 18 and was the height of a series of disturbing actions that happened after the couple's one-year relationship ended. These actions involved stealing her keys, trespassing, and secretly hiding a tracking device in her home. The man told the court he chose to be delivered in a box because he thought it was "the only way to get in and retrieve my belongings."

Stealing The Keys To Her Home

Upon emerging from the box, the woman alleged that he threatened her with a gun and subsequently fled with her house keys. While no weapon was discovered at his residence, the prosecution confirmed that he had indeed stolen her keys. Additionally, he bombarded her with numerous emails and even created a social media profile in her name.

Cameras Catch The Man Entering The House

After the box incident, the woman installed a camera in her home, which later revealed that the man had entered her house on three separate occasions. During one of these intrusions, he reportedly placed a tracking device behind her stove.

The man argued that he had been granted permission to visit the house and claimed that the keys had been given to him earlier. However, the court was unconvinced by his explanation and followed the prosecutor's recommendation, sentencing him to four months in jail and imposing a three-year restraining order to protect the woman.
