Who says Illinois is boring? Apparently, WalletHub definitely doesn't. A new WalletHub ranking of the Most Fun States in America has Illinois landing at an impressive No. 3 overall, putting the Land of Lincoln ahead of some pretty popular vacation destinations.

The ranking looks at things that make a state a great place to actually have some fun, including entertainment, recreation, and nightlife. And with everything from concerts and festivals to restaurants, sporting events, outdoor activities and plenty of places to grab a drink, Illinois clearly has a lot going for it.

WalletHub ranked Illinois No. 3 among the Most Fun States in America, putting it behind only California and Florida.

California took the No. 1 spot, which probably isn't a huge surprise. With beaches, theme parks, major cities, concerts, nightlife and endless entertainment options, the Golden State has no shortage of ways to have a good time.

Florida came in at No. 2, thanks to its combination of beaches, amusement parks, nightlife, outdoor activities and popular vacation destinations. It's basically built for people looking for something fun to do.
