Davenport Has Already Given Fans a Game to Remember

Getting to Williamsport wasn't exactly an easy road for Davenport.

The team went undefeated through the Midwest Regional tournament, finishing 4-0 and earning its spot among the 20 teams competing in this year's Little League World Series.

The regional championship game was especially wild.

Davenport found itself down by two runs in the seventh inning before putting together a comeback. Kannon Kane came through with a clutch two-run hit to even the score at 6-6.

Then came the winning run.

Anthony Johnson Jr. made his way around the bases and eventually scored on a wild pitch, giving Davenport a dramatic 7-6 victory and sending the team to Williamsport.

The Davenport team is led by manager Mark Erwin, along with assistant coaches Anthony Johnson Sr. and Alan Rasso.

Now the regional run is behind them. Tonight, Davenport Northwest gets to see how it stacks up against the best Little League teams in the country.

And for Quad Cities fans, it's a pretty fun reason to turn on ESPN2 at 5 p.m.
