Man Left Clinging to Rails on Glass-Bottom Bridge After Wind Shatters Panels
A man walking on a glass-bottom suspension bridge was left stranded after some of the panels shattered underneath his feet.
The bridge hangs over 300 feet high above the canyon, and reports say the wind gusts reached up to 93 miles per hour before the guy was able to be rescued.
"There were no casualties. After being kept in the hospital for observation, the trapped person was in stable emotional and physical condition and has been discharged from the hospital," officials said in a statement to CNN.
Other attractions in the area and the bridge are closed while officials conduct comprehensive safety checks.
I can tell you right now, that bridge probably isn't going to pass.
These glass bridges have become pretty popular, but they all have the occasional sketchy moments.
In the US, the Gatlinburg SkyBridge had to be shut down last year after a visitor cracked some of the glass on a panel.
