Man Jumps Barrier at Tiger Pen in Oakland Zoo

You can see how fast this guy's thought process went from "I'll just jump over and grab my glasses" to "holy crap that tiger looks hungry!"

The patron who recorded video of the man hopping the barrier said they heard something and it looked as though he dropped his glasses. So the guy just jumped over the fence.

As soon as he hit the ground, all the tigers in the enclosure noticed and one ran over to get a closer look. The man noticed and immediately clambered back to safety, his hands were empty.

The zoo responded with a statement:

The Oakland zoo meets and exceeds safety requirements set by state, federal, and AZA accreditation standards. We hope that all of our visitors act responsibly, and don’t attempt to put themselves in potentially unsafe situations. We thank the zoo guests that reacted to this individual’s actions when it occurred and alerting us.
