It's a routine inspection, but if it's the route you take to and from work, you'll want to know that there will be some intermittent single-lane closures that will certainly slow down the commute.

The closures will go as follows:

  • Saturday, Aug. 29 through Sunday, Aug. 30 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Government Bridge will have intermittent single-lane closures.
  • On Sunday Aug. 30 from 7 a.m. to noon, the Government Bridge will be closed to pedestrian, bike, vehicle, and train traffic.
  • On Tuesday, Sept. 1 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., there will be single-lane closures on the Moline Bridge and Rock Island Arsenal Viaduct

Flagmen and plenty of signage will be in place during the lane closures. If there's any inclement weather, they'll make up the days they miss on Wednesday, September 2nd.
