Man Builds Matterhorn-Inspired Coaster While Sheltering In Place
I'd wager that everyone took up a new hobby, or dove head first into one, during the lockdowns we went through this year. I (like many) dove head first into Netflix binging and day drinking, but this guy decided to take up roller coaster building.
When his state still hadn't reopened amusement parks, Sean LaRochelle decided to just build one in his backyard.
Sean started building the two-story coaster in March, and worked until it was finished in July.
"I always wanted to build a ride and Disney rides are always special to me because they're themed; they tell a unique story," he said.
The ride features waterfalls, fountains, and a small animatronic yeti.
He says he built the coaster for the enjoyment of his family and friends, and can't wait to build another Disney-themed ride again.
