Man Has To Be Rescued After Climbing Into Porta Potty

“Obviously, it’s not something we see every day,” Kansas City Fire Department Battalion Chief Riley Nolan told his local news, FOX4.

When the Kansas City Fire Department arrived on the scene, all they saw was a head sticking out of the toilet.

Patriot Portable Restrooms, the owner of the porta john, said a driver with the company arrived to collect the portable restrooms from a World Cup watch party location when he knocked on the locked restroom when a voice called out that it was occupied.

The driver explained that the man had 10 minutes before he would need to exit the restroom. When the driver came back, the man hadn't left the restroom, and said he wouldn't be.

“The man inside said he was not going to get out,” Chip Counterman, with Patriot Portable Restrooms, said. “Luckily, a police officer on a motorcycle went by. Our driver waved him down, the cop walked up to the door and asked the man to exit the toilet. The man replied that he could not reach the door and couldn’t get out of the toilet.”

The officer and employee were able to open the restroom door and look inside. They didn't see anyone, until after a few moments a head popped out of the toilet. “Fire department came after that and tried to instruct the man to exit the toilet, and the man would not do it,” Counterman said. “After it was cut open, the man was able to exit the toilet.” In the video, the man could be seen climbing through the hole cut open for him.

The man told everyone at the scene that he dropped a bottle of Mountain Dew in the tank and was trying to retrieve it when he got stuck.
