Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, a lot of people have shifted to working from home. The unfortunate truth is that some states are better to work from home than others. Many factors go into making working from home better for employees.

A new study took those factors to determine which states are better for telecommuters than others. Iowa is not a state you want a "work from home" job and Illinois isn't the best either.

A new study from WalletHub came out showing that Iowa is among the worst states to work from home in. This was determined along with the best and worst states to work from home when they released their latest list, Best States for Working from Home.

To determine the best and worst states for working from home, WalletHub compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia across two key dimensions:

  1. Work Environment
  2. Living Environment

WalletHub calculated each state and the District’s overall score to rank each state.

Iowa Is The 6th Worst State for Working From Home

WalletHub found that Iowa is the 6th worst state for working from home. Landing at #46 on this list, the Hawkeye State also ranked 39th in Work Environment and 49th in Living Environment.

Illinois Isn't The Best State To Work From Home Either

Illinois could have done better on this list, especially with Chicago being a city there.

The Land of Lincoln ranked as the 28th-best state or the 23rd-worst state for working from home. Illinois ranked 18th in Working Environment and 40th in Living Environment.

The best state for working from home is Delaware, and the worst state is Alaska.
