Social media, the land of great ideas, is at it again.

Parents, there's a new TikTok trend you're encouraged to watch out for. One mom in Illinois is warning you about the 'Needoh' TikTok trend that left her son severely burned.

In case you're wondering, Needoh is this thing:

9-year-old Caleb had to be taken to the Loyola Hospital's Burn Center after he tried the trend his friends told him about. The trend is to heat up the NeeDoh Nice Cube (which is filled with gel that's meant to be squished, not heated) to make it more pliable.

The toy burst in Caleb's face, causing some severe burns.

His mom had originally brought him to the Plainfield hospital but he had to be sent to Loyola. Kelly McElligott, Burn Outreach Coordinator at Loyola Medical Center Burn Center, said:

Whether it’s these toys that clearly have a label that say ‘don’t heat,’ but kids aren’t going to read labels. Or it’s ramen noodles coming out of the microwave that kids spill on themselves, or little kids pulling hot coffee off the counter. These are injuries we see every year at the burn center. Thirty percent of our patients are pediatric patients. I think it’s every day common things in the home that are burning these kids and we want to make sure that parents should be diligent about what’s in their house.

Meanwhile as for Caleb, luckily, he is very fortunate and even though his face was swollen, he doesn't have any permanent damage to his eye and he's healing up on his own.
