Fatwoods BBQ Smokehouse Opens in Downtown Moline
Fatwoods BBQ Smokehouse officially celebrated its grand opening on Friday, February 20, 2026, and from the moment the doors opened, you could tell this place was going to be a hit.
Fatwoods is located at 1516 5th Avenue in downtown Moline, in the former QC Zone space next to Corazon Latino Restaurant & Bar. Doors opened at 5 p.m., and it didn’t take long for the smell of smoked meats to draw in a crowd. The energy inside felt less like a typical restaurant opening and more like a neighborhood celebration, which is exactly what makes openings in the QC so special.
A Big Night for BBQ Lovers
The grand opening menu featured classic BBQ favorites, including brisket, ribs, pulled pork, smoked sausage, wings, and loaded options like brisket fries. Fatwoods also offered multiple house-made sauces, giving customers plenty of ways to customize their plates. Throughout the night, locals were snapping photos, sharing plates, and posting first impressions online, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive.
By the end of the evening, some menu items had already sold out, which, around here, is usually the best compliment a new restaurant can get.
A Welcome Addition to Downtown Moline
Fatwoods describes itself as the home of “sweet slappin’ cheek clappin’ BBQ,” and the bold flavors and generous portions lived up to that promise. The casual, welcoming atmosphere makes it an easy fit for downtown Moline, whether you’re grabbing dinner with friends, bringing the family, or stopping in before a night out.
For locals, it’s always great to see new businesses succeed — and based on the turnout and buzz from opening night, Fatwoods BBQ Smokehouse is already carving out a spot in the Quad Cities food scene. If the grand opening was any indication, this is one restaurant QC BBQ fans will be talking about for a long time.
