Careful what you wish for.

We've had snow lately, we've had biting cold temps. You're probably thinking to yourself "geez 85 degrees and sunny sounds really nice". But you may get more than you wish for.

Old Farmer's Almanac has released their long-term forecast for Spring/Summer 2025. And oy get ready.

First off, Spring doesn't look too bad for us. They describe it as 'warm, dry' in our corner, and even 'normal temps, dry'.

From there, we might just kinda fry.

Let's plan your vacations, shall we?

Old Farmer's Almanac says this summer in Illinois will be "warmer than normal", with that trend starting in April/May. The hottest periods will be in early to mid-July.

But it looks like a rainy summer here. They're saying the rainfall will be above normal too, also starting in April/May.

So not only might Illinois burn, but we might get buckets of rain dumped on us. Fun.

Iowa will start getting toasty in April/May and this summer, will also have warmer than normal temperatures, with the hottest time in late June-early July.

But the rain is a different story for Iowa. All Spring and Summer, they're predicting below average precipitation for Iowa. So it's gonna be hot and dry.

As long as you're staying inside this winter avoiding cold temps and social interaction, make sure you're ready for this hot summer. Check your sunscreens to make sure they're not 9 years past the expiration date. Maybe take a vacation until October.
