Davenport Police Want You To Take Care At The Fair

In a social media post on Sunday, the Davenport Police Department put out a solid tips and reminders list on how you can take care of yourself and your friends and family at the 2023 Mississippi Valley Fair.

To help make your time at the Mississippi Valley Fair memorable and more enjoyable, officials from the Davenport Police Department gave 10 tips to remind all of us how to have the best fair yet.

Those tips include:

  1. WATER - Make sure to drink plenty of water and stay hydrated.
  2. BUDDY SYSTEM - Use the buddy system and never go off alone from your group.
  3. BEST SHOES - Wear closed-toe shoes, not flip-flops or sandals, to protect your feet.
  4. KID SAFETY - Keep a watchful eye on children. It’s easy to get separated in large crowds.
  5.  MORE KID SAFETY - Write a guardian’s phone number in pen on your children’s arms just in case they get lost.
  6. EVEN MORE KID SAFETY - Take a photo of your children before visiting so you know their clothing and hairstyle and have an up-to-date photo should you get separated.
  7. MEETING SPOT - Have a designated meeting area should you get separated from your group.
  8. WEATHER - Check the weather. Sunscreen and brightly colored clothes are the best ways to fight against the heat and the sun.
  9. ANIMALS - Always ask before petting or approaching animals.
  10. CARNIVAL RIDES - If a ride stops temporarily due to mechanical failure or other reasons, stay seated and wait for an operator to give you further instructions.

We all want you to have a great 2023 Mississippi Valley Fair. If for some reason you need assistance from the Davenport Police Department or any other authority's help, never be afraid to ask.
